Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2005)

This film has got to be one of my
favorite comedies ever and without a doubt one of the greatest comedies of the
first decade of the new millennium. In this 2005 comedic masterpiece Will
Ferrell portrays Ron Burgundy a steak and scotch loving San Diego news
anchorman who is loved by everyone in his city. But Mr. Burgundy isn’t loved by
the other local news teams because he and his news team always get the better
of them in the ratings. When a new, female, member joins Burgundy’s group our
main character at first falls in love with the new member. But when she takes
his place on a day that he can’t make it to do the news, everything changes for
Mr. Burgundy who is eventually fired but then rehired when he is needed to
highlight the biggest news that San Diego has ever seen.

Like I said before this is one of my
favorite comedy flicks ever, everything in it is perfect. The acting, the
directing, the script it is all excellent, I mean if you want to see a great
Frat Pack (the group composed of Vince Vaughn, the Wilson Brothers, Ben
Stiller, Will Ferrell and others) movie then I think this might be the definitive
one. Surely there are other great Frat Pack features like Old School, Starsky
& Hutch
and Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, but I think that
this might be the best one, I mean Will Ferrell’s performance is just amazing
and so is the entire cast’s. The picture in its entirety does what it is
supposed to do, being a comedy; give you lots and lots of laughs. The flick is
just a piece of comedic excellence.

Rating:
5 stars out of 5.
